SHARON, Pa. -- A benefit concert by The Lettermen and a Valentine's Day dinner-dance will be offered in February by Vocal Group Hall of Fame & amp; Museum, 98 E. State St. The Lettermen, featuring vocal hall chairman and founder Tony Butala, will perform a Broadway-style show of their own hits and songs from popular musicals Feb. 5 in Sharon High School Auditorium, 1129 E. State St. Tickets are from $15 to $25. The dance will be at the vocal hall. Tickets are $10 for the dance only, $20 for the dance and buffet. Call (724) 983-2025.
Soul food dinner
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Authentic soul food -- including spare ribs, fried chicken, collard greens, black eyed peas and sweet potato pie -- will be served at Hoyt Institute of Fine Art's third annual soul food dinner at 3:45 p.m. Feb. 1. The institute is at 124 E. Leasure Ave. Tickets are $12.50 and must be bought in advance. Call (724) 652-2882. A pre-dinner concert by St. Paul's Baptist Church Choir will be at 3:15 p.m.
Guthrie hospitalized
YOUNGSTOWN -- WKBN-TV Channel 27 meteorologist Don Guthrie is off the air until at least late February while he recovers from heart valve replacement. Guthrie was reported to be in good condition after his operation Tuesday at Cleveland Clinic, WKBN news director Gary Coursen says. Get-well messages may be sent to Guthrie via the WKBN newsroom, Coursen added.
