The Committee to Erect a Struthers Veterans Memorial will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road.
BASIC GRADS
Air Force: Airman 1st Class John Mark Stromp (Crestview High School, Columbiana, '03), son of John and Sue Stromp of East Palestine and grandson of Anne Stromp of Austintown. He is slated for medical technology training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.
Army: Pfc. Benjamin Ronald Magni (Mineral Ridge High School, '03), son of Ronald and Pamela Magni of McDonald.
Marine Corps: Pvt. Carrie J. McKenzie (Greenville, Pa., Senior High School, '03), daughter of Tom and Nancy McKenzie of Greenville.
Coast Guard: Seaman Apprentice John P. Orsini (Steubenville Catholic Central High School, '03).

Anti-terrorism
Several area residents have been deployed to support Operations Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom. Noble Eagle is the name of United States military operations associated with the homeland defense and support of federal, state and local civil agencies in the United States. Operation Enduring Freedom is the name given to anti-terrorism military operations involving U.S. troops and allied coalition partners.

Army Reserve Spec. Jesse J. Henderson, a 1999 graduate of Beaver Local High School, Lisbon, is a motor transport operator normally assigned to the 660th Transportation Company, Cadiz. He is the son of Clark J. and Helen E. Henderson of East Liverpool. His wife, Heather, is the daughter of Joseph and Kathleen Boyde of East Liverpool.
Army Reserve 1st Lt. Keith T. Carpenter, a 1985 graduate of Girard High School and a 1999 graduate of Youngstown State University, is normally assigned to 848th Forward Surgical Team, Brooklyn, Ohio. He is the son of Larry G. Carpenter of Warren and Janet Carpenter of Youngstown.
Army Reserve Pvt. Shaiyla B. Hakeen, a 2001 graduate of Liberty High School, is a personnel services specialist normally assigned to 783rd Military Police Battalion, Inkster, Mich. She is the granddaughter of Minnie R. Bryant of Youngstown.
Army Reserve Spec. Jeffrey L. Howell Jr., a 1999 graduate of United Local High School, Hanoverton, is a heavy-wheeled-vehicle operator normally assigned to the 660th Transportation Company, Cadiz. He is the stepson of James R. Temple of Lisbon.
Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Dana P. Reagan, a 1981 graduate of Southeast High School, Palmyra, is a motor transport operator normally assigned to 706th Transportation Company, Mansfield. He is the son of Constance L. Branch of Lake Milton.
