Carla Dobkowski, Michael Bettross to wed in May

XPOLAND -- The engagement of Carla Louise Dobkowski, 6270 Apache Lane, and Michael Albert Bettross, Island Drive, is being announced by their parents.
The bride-elect is a daughter of Myron Dobkowski, also of Apache Lane, and Candice Dobkowski, Dixie Lane, Tarpon Springs, Fla. Parents of the future groom are Gerard and Louise Bettross, Elk Road, Canfield.
Miss Dobkowski is a child and family therapist with the Human Services Center in New Castle, Pa. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's in community counseling, and earned a degree in art therapy from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike.
Mr. Bettross earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Mount Union College, Alliance, and is employed by the Community Corrections Association in Youngstown as the director at the federal halfway house.
The couple will be married in an open ceremony they have planned for 1 p.m. May 22 at Holy Family Church. Invitations will be issued for their evening reception at The Georgetown in Boardman.
