Cannons celebrate 60th anniversary and attend a wedding in Honolulu

XCANFIELD -- Mr. and Mrs. Catesby B. Cannon Jr. of Canfield, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Jan. 14 in Honolulu while spending a month at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Catesby III and Myra Cannon.
Among the 14 family members joining the couple for the holidays was their daughter, Mrs. Joan Markulin of Ravenna, and a foster daughter, Susana Castano Schultz of Greenville, N.C. Mrs. Schultz, formerly a foreign exchange student from Argentina who lived with the Cannons for a year, was accompanied by her husband, Dr. Martin P. Schultz, and their son and daughter.
While in Hawaii, the Cannons attended the Jan. 3 wedding of a grandson, Rex E. Baumberger Jr., and Priscilla Winder, both of Fort Pierce, Fla.
The former Emma Lou Gibson and Mr. Cannon were united in marriage Jan. 14, 1944, at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church. Both attended Muskingum College.
Mr. Cannon retired in 1985 as assistant managing editor at The Vindicator after 45 years' employment. He served with the U.S. Navy for three years during World War II and two years during the Korean War.
Mrs. Cannon taught first grade for Canfield Local Schools, was a Girl Scout troop leader and founded the preschool at Canfield Presbyterian Church.
