Baloghs honored at surprise party for 50th jubilee



XAUSTINTOWN -- A surprise party was held Dec. 13 at the Hungarian Presbyterian Church hall in Youngstown in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Balas Balogh, 165 Idlewood Road, in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were the couple's children, Brenda Martin of Austintown, Debbie Barbone of Ellsworth and Ken Balogh of Austintown. Four grandchildren complete their family.
Mr. Balogh and the former Rose Orosz were married Dec. 9, 1953, at Calvary Methodist Church in Fredericksburg, Md. He served in the U.S. Army 89th Medium Tank Battalion during the Korean War and retired in 1988 from the Chrysler Corp. in Twinsburg, where he was a press operator.
His wife retired in 1985 from Hills Department Store, where she worked in the return-to-manufacturer department.
The Baloghs are members of the Hungarian Presbyterian Church. She belongs to the Presbyterian Women's Club, and he is a member of the church session.
