NBA ROUNDUP | Saturday's games

Lakers 122, Wizards 110
WASHINGTON -- Kobe Bryant's first triple-double of the season helped Los Angeles pull away in the fourth quarter. Bryant finished with 25 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, and came up big for the Lakers in several key moments. He hit a 3-pointer at the third-quarter buzzer to help stop a Wizards' run, and his alley-oop pass to Shaquille O'Neal with 6:30 left in the fourth started an 18-4 run that put the game out of reach. Gilbert Arenas finished with 35 points for the Wizards on 12-of-23 shooting. He tied a franchise record set by Rex Chapman in 1994 by making eight 3-pointers. O'Neal scored 29 points on 13-of-17 shooting, many points with many of his baskets coming on dunks the Wizards frontcourt was unable to defend. The Wizards trailed by 15 early in the second half but closed within 85-83 late in the third, thanks in large part to Arenas' 3-point shooting. He hit four 3-pointers in the quarter. Bryant's 3-pointer at the buzzer gave the Lakers an 88-83 lead heading into the fourth. For much of the fourth, the Wizards stayed close, getting within 94-93 on two free throws by Jared Jeffries with 7:29 left. The Lakers were ahead 98-95 with 6:13 left when they took control of the game. Bryant hit a free throw following a technical foul and later found Luke Walton open for a 3-pointer to make it 102-95. Kareem Rush hit another 3-pointer, and O'Neal converted a three-point play to make it 108-95. Kwame Brown scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds for his second straight double-double for Washington. Stackhouse scored 20.
Nets 92, Heat 86
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Kenyon Martin had 18 points, 15 rebounds and an incredible late block as New Jersey got back on track after losing for the first time under Lawrence Frank. Jefferson added 25 points and Jason Kidd had four free throws in the final 21.2 seconds to cap a 20-point effort in helping the Nets' rally from a 10-point halftime deficit. The win was the Nets 15th in 16 games overall, and their 14th in 15 games since Frank replaced Byron Scott as coach of the two-time defending Eastern Conference champions in late January. The only loss came Wednesday against Minnesota. Eddie Jones had 21 points to lead Miami, which lost its second straight after winning a season high-tying four games in a row. Caron Butler added 18 points, and Dwayne Wade had 17 for the Heat, who were limited to 38 second-half points. Lamar Odom had 10 points in 17 foul-plagued minutes for Miami, which made only seven field goal in the final quarter. Martin and Jefferson combined for 15 of 19 points in a spurt that transformed a 71-67 deficit into an 86-80 lead when Jefferson scored the last of his six straight points with 1:52 to play. A three-point play by Udonis Haslem and two free throws by Bulter cut the lead to 86-85 with 22.1 seconds to play. Kidd hit two free throws after being fouled on the ensuing inbounds play to push the lead to 88-85, and then Martin came up big. Wade, who was guarded by Kidd, drove around top of the key and came down the right side of the lane, putting a floater. Martin came off his man and caught the shot in mid air for a block that could have been considered a steal. Kerry Kittles added two free throws with 13.4 seconds to go and the Heat never had another chance to tie the game.

Magic 104, Hawks 99
ATLANTA -- Tracy McGrady scored 26 of his 30 points before injuring his right ankle, and Orlando snapped a two-game losing skid. McGradylanded awkwardly on the foot of defender Stephen Jackson after missing a jumper late in the third quarter and immediately began favoring his foot. On the other end, McGrady grabbed Bob Sura's jersey for a foul to stop the clock, then left the game. He came back about three minutes into the fourth quarter but was in obvious pain and went only 1-for-3 from the field after returning. Tyronn Lue scored 19 points, and DeShawn Stevenson, Drew Gooden and Sean Rooks each added 12 for the Magic. It was a season-high total for Rooks. Chris Crawford tied his career high with 27 points, Jackson scored 24 and Jason Terry had 23 for the Hawks, who have lost five of six.
