YOUNGSTOWN -- The Beatitude House held its second annual Cornerstone Dinner on Feb. 22 at the Maronite Center to recognize the accomplishments of women and children who participate in Beatitude House programs and the generosity of donors.
Kisha Brady, a graduate of the Beatitude House, received the second annual Sister Margaret Scheetz Achievement Award, which is named for the founder of Beatitude House. Sister Margaret's vision of Beatitude House as a means for homeless mothers to better themselves through education is a working reality.
Brady and her son, Jakeace, were at the Rescue Mission before coming to Beatitude House. She will graduate in May from Youngstown State University as a registered nurse.
The invitation-only event included the presentation of children's awards for school attendance, academic achievement and personal growth. Women's awards were presented for education, driving, employment, housing, personal growth, financial management and the Ambassador Award.
Melissa Means sang "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "Pray for Me."
