Celebration held for the Giddings on anniversary

XNILES -- Mr. and Mrs. James Giddings Sr. of Niles were honored at a 50th wedding anniversary celebration that took place Feb. 7 at the fellowship hall of First Assembly of God Church in Liberty Township where they are active members.
Hosts for the event were the couple's children and their spouses Cathy and Roy Barnett of Chicago, Mary Jane and Elmer Norris of Jefferson, James Giddings Jr. of Vienna, and Ronald and Carol Giddings Sr. of Chester, Va. Completing the family circle are 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
The former Mattie Gray and Mr. Giddings were united in marriage on Feb. 6, 1954, by the Rev. James Rowland in Berkeley Springs Presbyterian Church, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Mr. Giddings worked for Horizon Trucking and Kaplan Trucking and retired in 1991 after 40 years in the trucking industry.
Mrs. Giddings was employed in Warren City Schools as a registered nurse and had worked at Warren General Hospital and Family Medical Clinic in Niles.
The couple will take a family cruise to the Caribbean later this year.
