BOYS ROUNDUP Liberty rallies to beat LaBrae
LIBERTY -- The Liberty High boys basketball team outscored LaBrae 17-12 in the fourth quarter to earn a 49-47 victory in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game on Friday at Liberty High School.
Senior Bradley Fletcher scored 24 points and had six rebounds and DeShawn Crenshaw added 13 for the Leopards (16-4, 10-4), who were outscored 13-3 in the third quarter. Joel Marshall added six rebounds and Joe Lopez had five assists.
Todd Rowan had 14 points and 12 rebounds for LaBrae (16-4, 11-3), while Jason Frederick added 12 points.
Newton Falls 69, Girard 53
NEWTON FALLS -- Newton Falls took a 41-27 halftime lead to take control.
The Tigers put four players in double figures in the regular-season final for both schools.
Chad Rankin paced Newton Falls with 11 points. Kirby Spahlinger, Troy Balint and Alec Cooper each had 10 points.
Nick Cretella led the Indians (6-14, 3-11) with 16 points.
Hubbard 61, Champion 44
CHAMPION -- Jacoby Morris scored 16 points and Jeff Jablonski scored 15 points to lead the Eagles (11-9, 7-7).
The Eagles jumped ahead 17-6 after one quarter.
Jake Gross and Adam Lantz each scored 12 points for the Golden Flashes (1-19, 0-14).
United 99, South Range 51
NORTH LIMA -- Corey Manfull poured in 29 points and D'Andrew Soltis added 16 points for United (15-5).
Manfull hit four 3-pointers.
Dale Woolf also collected 15 points and Aaron Rowley scored 12 points.
Brian Bagwell led the Raiders (2-18) with 10 points.
