Student sues man charged with rape, OSU
CLEVELAND (AP) -- An Ohio State University student says in a lawsuit that someone she knew from high school raped her in a dormitory at the university.
She alleges Ohio State did not adequately protect her and other students.
The woman, who lists her name as Jane Doe, filed a $6 million lawsuit this month in U.S. District Court in Cleveland and a $6 million suit in the Ohio Court of Claims in Columbus.
The suits contend that the university knew the sexual-harassment history of a certain male student but was negligent in protecting her.
The 20-year-old male and the university are listed as defendants.
The alleged attacker was dismissed from the university.
Jeremy Goldstein has been indicted in Franklin County Common Pleas Court on two counts of rape and is scheduled for trial next month.
His attorney, Max Kravitz, said that the allegations are false and that Goldstein and the woman had consensual sex in his room.
