PRIMARY DAY: Don't forget that Tuesday is the Ohio primary, and the polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. There are several important and interesting races in Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
Independents: Also, 4 p.m. Monday is the deadline for those wanting to run in the November general election as independent candidates.
Kucinich's visit: Rock the Vote Youngstown will be at 7 p.m. Monday in the Chestnut Room of Youngstown State University's Kilcawley Center. U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Cleveland, a long-shot Democratic presidential candidate, is the guest speaker. The free event also will feature live entertainment.
Jerry, Jerry: The John F. Kennedy Federated Democratic Women's Club banquet is at 6 tonight at the Georgetown on South Avenue in Boardman. The guest speaker is trash TV talk-show host Jerry Springer. Shirlee Marsico of Canfield is being honored as the club's woman of the year.
