Pa. teen to stand trial in vehicle-shooting case

MERCER, Pa. -- A Commodore Perry High School senior accused of shooting at cars from a house window has been ordered to be held for trial on charges of recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and propulsion of a missile into a vehicle.
Timothy R. Lackey, 19, of Hadley Road, Clarks Mills, was arrested in the case Feb. 12 and appeared Monday before District Justice Ruth French for a preliminary hearing.
Lackey was initially in Mercer County Jail but was later released on $15,000 bond.
Pennsylvania State Police are handling the case and said a 15-year-old boy also has been charged with shooting at vehicles. His case is being handled in juvenile court.
Police said Lackey admitted that he and the juvenile shot a .22-caliber rifle at the rear of cars and trucks that drove past the house Lackey had rented at the corner of Pa. Route 358 and Airport Road at Clarks Mills.
Police said at least three vehicles were struck in the rear, but no one was injured. The shootings occurred after dark Feb. 6 and 7, police said.
