Indians sign Sizemore
Outfielder Grady Sizemore, Cleveland's minor league player of the year last season, signed a one-year contract with the Indians on Monday. Sizemore is expected to begin the season at Triple-A Buffalo, but if he produces like he did a year ago, the 21-year-old may not be there for long. Last year, he batted .304 with 13 homers and 78 RBIs at Double-A Akron. He added 26 doubles and 11 triples while being named the Eastern League's top rookie and runner-up for MVP. The Indians also signed shortstop Jhonny Peralta, third baseman Corey Smith, and pitchers Cliff Bartosh, Rafael Betancourt and Brian Tallet. Tallet will miss the season after undergoing elbow transplant surgery. More baseball, C4.
