FirstEnergy executives get raises, incentive pay

AKRON (AP) -- FirstEnergy Corp. executives got raises and hundreds of thousands of dollars in other incentive pay at a time when the utility's rank-and-file employees lost out on bonuses, federal documents show.
The executives -- all earning more than $300,000 in base salary -- received raises ranging from 3.1 percent to 10.3 percent and were compensated through the company's long-term incentive plan, said filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The utility last week said its 14,000 employees lost out on sharing $51 million in bonus money because of disappointing earnings.
