Authorities searchfor runaway girl
AUSTINTOWN -- Police are looking for a 14-year-old Mallard Court girl who ran away from home twice in two days. Kortney Gherardi is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing about 115 pounds with brown eyes, brown hair and a small build.
Police reports say Kortney took her family's car and left their home during the afternoon on Feb. 12. She was picked up by police and returned to her family that night after she was involved in a car accident in Cleveland.
The next day, Kortney again left her family's home while her mother was on the phone. She has not been seen since. Her father told police his daughter deactivated a home security system Saturday morning, broke a window, and entered the family's home. She filled a garbage bag with her clothes and left, he said.
Police are asking anyone with information about Kortney to call them at (330) 799-9721.
