Teenager tells police that man attacked her
CAMPBELL -- A 17-year-old Hyatt Avenue girl fought off a man who attacked her while she was walking on Sanderson Avenue about 6:30 p.m. Monday.
The victim, who was not injured, told police she was walking to a friend's home on Sixth Street when she noticed an older model pickup truck turn around in a driveway near her. She turned onto Twelfth Street and the pickup passed her and turned a corner.
While on Sanderson, the vehicle pulled up beside her and the driver told her not to worry. She crossed the street and the driver left his vehicle and tackled her. As she tried to get up, he pushed her back down and covered her mouth to stop her screaming.
She said the man let go of her when she kicked his leg and she ran to a friend's house. The victim described her attacker as a white man in his late 20s or early 30s with medium-length wavy hair and a thin build.
