Mount Union upends B-W in OAC tourney



BEREA -- Junior guard Brad Gerard scored a game-high 22 points as Mount Union College defeated Baldwin-Wallace, 80-74, in an Ohio Athletic Conference tournament game Wednesday.
The Purple Raiders (17-9), behind 36-32 at halftime, outscored the Yellow Jackets (18-8) 48-38 in the second half to advance to the tournament semifinals, where they will play No. 2 seed Otterbein in University Heights Friday at 6 p.m.
Brett Hershberger scored 14 points for the Purple Raiders, while Kyle Karpinski added 13 and Rob Paulauskas scored 12.
Tori Davis paced Baldwin-Wallace with 16 points and Keith Aufmuth added 15.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Rock was eliminated from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference playoffs.
Jason Taylor scored a game-high 15 points for The Rock (7-19, 4-7 PSAC-West), while sophomore center Glenn Reepmeyer added 10.
California improved to 21-5, 10-1, and clinched the PSAC-West title.
Women
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Rock (4-7, 12-14 PSAC-West) was tied at 34-all at halftime, but California (25-1, 10-1), which had five players in double figures, pulled away 46-23 in the second half for an 80-57 victory.
Stacey Green took scoring honors for the Rock with 23 points. Erin Frankovich added 16.
Sara McKinney led California's balanced scoring attack with 16 points and Becky Siembak added 14.
