TRUMBULL COUNTY Jablonski leads Hubbard past Newton Falls, 52-49



Joel Marshall scored 21 points to guide Liberty past Brookfield.
HUBBARD -- Jeff Jablonski made six 3-pointers en route to 22 points as the Hubbard High boys basketball team knocked off Newton Falls 52-49 Friday in the Trumbull Athletic Conference.
Russell Hawkins added 10 points for the Eagles (9-9, 5-7 TAC).
Andrew Grunder scored 13 points for Newton Falls (11-7, 7-5), while Kirby Spahlinger contributed 11.
Liberty 70, Brookfield 43
BROOKFIELD -- Liberty made 14 of 22 two-point goals in the second half to finish strong as the Leopards beat Brookfield for the second time this season.
Senior forward Joel Marshall scored 21 points and senior guard Joe Lopez added 11 points for Liberty, which outscored the Warriors, 37-15 in the second half.
Joel Marshall and Joe Lopez evenly shared 12 of Liberty's 35 rebounds.
The Leopards made just one of seven 3-point goals in the second half, but finished by hitting 27 of 52 field goals for the game.
For Brookfield, Sam King tallied 15 points and Chris Davis 13, while Davis and Mike Quaglia each grabbed eight of the Warriors' 27 rebounds.
Liberty beat Brookfield earlier, 57-54.
Girard 80, Champion 55
GIRARD -- Nick Canterino, Greg Barton and Nick Cretella scored 28, 15 and 13 points respectively for the Indians.
Girard used a 21-point second quarter to stake a 46-32 lead at the break.
Adam Lantz scored 15 points and Jake Gross scored 11 more for Champion.
Badger 51, Ledgemont 22
KINSMAN -- Norman Yannucci scored a game-high 15 points to lead Badger, which took a 25-3 lead after the first quarter.
Tyler Romine added 12 points for Badger (8-12).
