BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Daniel Briere scored with 1:59 left in overtime, lifting the Buffalo Sabres to a win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. The victory spoiled Dave Andreychuk's big night. He scored two power-play goals, including the 265th of his career to regain the all-time league lead; Brett Hull scored his 263rd on Wednesday. Tampa Bay's Cory Stillman scored with 54 seconds left in regulation to force the overtime, capping the Lightning's rally from a 3-1 third-period deficit.
Stars 5, Avalanche 1
DALLAS -- Jason Arnott scored three goals and Pierre Turgeon added a power-play goal and an assist as the Dallas Stars beat the Colorado Avalanche for the first time this season. Scott Young added a third-period goal and Marty Turco stopped 15 shots for the Stars, 10-3-2 in their last 15 games. Sergei Zubov and Bill Guerin had two assists each for the Stars, who'd lost their first three meetings to the Avalanche by a total score of 11-3.
Red Wings 5, Blues 1
DETROIT -- Henrik Zetterberg had two power-play goals and an assist. Ray Whitney had a goal and two assists, Kirk Maltby and Darren McCarty got the other goals for the Wings. Brett Hull added two assists for Detroit, which has won six of its last seven games. Doug Weight scored for St. Louis, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.
