Poster, essay contests
CORTLAND -- The Trumbull County Soil and Water Conservation District is sponsoring poster and essay contests on the theme "The Living Soil."
The poster contest is open to children in kindergarten to 12th grade. Posters must be submitted to district offices by April 1 for judging. First-, second- and third-place winners in five divisions will win prizes between $10 and $25.
Entries for the essay contest must be between two and three pages long, typed and double-spaced. Winners in divisions for grades six to eight and nine to 12 will receive prizes between $25 and $75.
