OHIO 26th annual Beekeeping Workshop to be held



WOOSTER -- The Tri-County Beekeepers' Association of Northeastern Ohio and The Ohio State University Extension Service will hold their 26th annual Beekeeping Workshop on March 6.
The event will be at the Ohio State University Agricultural Research and Development Center, which is on state Route 83 south of U.S. 30 in Wooster. This is the largest one-day workshop in the United States.
The keynote speaker is Dr. James E. Tew, extension specialist, Apiculture, for Ohio State University, Wooster. His topic is "The Healthy Hive -- Is It Possible?" In addition, smaller group sessions will be held on a variety of topics, including cooking with honey, small time pollination, processing wax, diseases and pests, small scale queen production, gardening, pheromones and basic beekeeping.
There will also be a baking contest, door prizes and many vendor displays.
Registration starts at 8 a.m. with the program running from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. The registration fee for the day is $30 per person with hot lunch being offered for $7.50 or a boxed lunch for $5.00 (preregistration only).
