GIRLS ROUNDUP Girard has easy time with Falls



Cachet Murray sparked the Indians to their 14th straight league win.
NEWTON FALLS -- The Girard High girls team tuned up for tournament action as it posted a 45-23 victory over Newton Falls in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game Thursday.
Cachet Murray scored 17 points for the Indians (19-1, 14-0) and teammate Lora Doran added 12.
Kortney Pelyak led the Tigers (3-17, 2-12) with 11 points.
Lakeview 54, Liberty 47
CORTLAND -- The Bulldogs (8-12, 7-7 TAC) jumped out to a 15-4 lead in the first quarter.
Christina Martin paced the Bulldogs with 19 points and grabbed 12 of 29 rebounds. Jen Baker added 14 points and Natalie Sudzina had 10. Britni Morello had five assists.
Lena Esmail and Cherie Austin sparked the Leopards (14-6, 9-5) with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Hubbard 63, LaBrae 30
HUBBARD -- Lynle Cornell scored 12 of her 36 points in the second quarter when the Eagles took a 37-19 lead. Maddie D'Orio scored 11 points for LaBrae.
Brookfield 64, Champion 55
BROOKFIELD -- Jackie Rust scored 21 points to lead the Warriors (11-9, 8-6 TAC). Rachel Pasquerilla and Kaitlyn Nasci each had 16 points for Brookfield.
Elizabeth Ghinda scored 16 points, Jessica Carpenter had 14 and Jessica Wood 12 for Champion (8-12).
Lowellville 55, Jackson-Milton 26
LOWELLVILLE -- Lowellville limited the Bluejays to seven points in the first quarter, three in the second and five in the third in the regular season finale for both schools.
Amanda Nero triggered the Lowellville (16-4, 12-2 Inter-County League) attack with 19 points and five assists.
Dana Danatelli chipped in with 13 points and five steals. Christa Flora grabbed 11 rebounds.
Western Reserve 59,Mineral Ridge 27
BERLIN CENTER -- The Blue Devils (5-15, 2-12 ICL) put the game out of reach 47-20 by the end of the third quarter.
Erica Zimmerman scored 15 points to spark Western Reserve and teammate Sara Kutsko chipped in with 11.
Brandy Hall led the Rams (3-17, 0-14) with 11 points.
