YSU contest seeks plan to improve downtown Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown State University division of Students In Free Enterprise is sponsoring a contest asking YSU graduate and undergraduate students to design a downtown Youngstown that will attract young people, ages 16 to 25.
YSU's Williamson College of Business Administration is co-sponsoring the event. The winning entry will be awarded $750. Second and third place awards are $500 and $250, respectively.
Students can work alone or with a partner and are required to submit a proposal of no more than five pages, with one additional page allowed for an exhibit. Students are discouraged from simply adding more bars to the area. Proposals are due March 16; send to Dr. Therese Maskulka, Department of Marketing, Youngstown State University, 1 University Plaza, Youngstown, Ohio 44555.
Other S.I.F.E. projects include a YSU Student Entrepreneurial Fair to be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Kilcawley Center.
