The city's board of control approved these contracts and spending items Thursday:
A contract with MS Consultants of Youngstown, not to exceed $15,000, for site work at the Ohio Works Industrial Park.A $48,650 contract with Thomas Fok & amp; Associates, Youngstown, for engineering work on waterline replacements on Glacier Heights Road and Atkinson Avenue.A $125 technical assistance grant for William Murrell, who operates Chameleon Painting.Transfer to the city of 18 acres on the East Side at the Ohio State Penitentiary, and an operations and maintenance agreement with the Ohio Department of Corrections, for a firing range on the site. The city, state and several other law enforcement agencies will use the facility.Severance of $454 for Thomas Skotis, a firefighter who was in his probation period and not retained as of Dec. 3.Severance of $5,344 for Christopher Bonacci, a police officer who resigned Nov. 18.A $10,089 payment to Marucci & amp; Gaffney of Youngstown, for emergency repair of a storm and sanitary sewer main on Center Street near Wilson Avenue.A $4,759 payment to Marucci & amp; Gaffney of Youngstown, for emergency repair of a sanitary sewer main on Bryant Drive, Austintown.A $24,957 payment to L.E.C. Inc. of Youngstown, to build access paths and repair or enlarge six sanitary sewer manholes on Crescent Street.A $22,364 payment to K.T. Lyden Construction of Youngstown, to repair a storm sewer in several spots on Estates Circle.A $7,074 payment to L.E.C. Inc. of Youngstown, for emergency work to an inlet and cleaning of a creek off Youngstown-Hubbard Road.
