WARREN -- About 11 pounds of suspected marijuana was confiscated at a local motel by the city police drug unit.
It was found in Christopher Cleveland's motel room at the Warren Travelodge, Youngstown-Warren Road, along with a .38-caliber semiautomatic handgun and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Cleveland, 29, formerly of Warren, resides in Texas. He is being held in the Trumbull County jail on one charge of drug trafficking.
Cleveland was arrested on the felony charge after he was stopped by police Tuesday afternoon on a traffic violation. Police found a quarter-pound of marijuana in Cleveland's car, officials said.
Shortly after the stop, police obtained a search warrant so they could look inside his motel room.
City police would not say where the traffic stop took place or name the motel where Cleveland was staying because the case is under investigation.
Trumbull County sheriff officials who assisted in the arrest said the drugs were found in Cleveland's motel room at the Warren Travelodge.
A Travelodge spokesman said Cleveland had checked into the motel earlier Tuesday.
