XST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands -- The Marriott Frenchman's Reef Hotel and Resort provided the setting for the Jan. 21 wedding of Michele Renee Smith and Robert James Scocchera, both of 8508 Maurer Road, Lenexa, Kan. The Rev. William Arnet officiated at the noon ceremony, and a reception followed at the resort.
The bride is a daughter of Dennis and Rita Smith, Weskan, Kan. The groom is a son of Robert Scocchera of Boardman and Tammy Scocchera of 22186 E. Berry Place, Aurora, formerly of the Youngstown area.
The bride wore a strapless gown.
Mrs. Scocchera graduated from Colby Community College, Colby, Kan. She is a legal secretary with Shook, Hardy and Bacon law firm in Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Scocchera is employed as the operations coordinator with Alliance Shippers Inc., Mission, Kan. He attended Kansas University, Lawrence, Kan., and served in the U.S. Army in the Military Police Corps from 1996-99.
The sister of the bride, Heather K. Smith, Overland Park, Kan., was honor attendant. She wore a lavender dress.
Performing the duties of best man was Travis Smith of Overland Park, the brother of the bride.
The newlyweds live in Lenexa.
