BOARDMAN -- The public is invited to participate in a free snow sculpture contest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the area near the Maag Outdoor Arts Theatre in Boardman Township Park.
Prizes donated by local businesses will be awarded for first, second and third place. The winner need not be present.
There will be bonfires, and hot chocolate, coffee, doughnuts and cookies may be sold.
The sculptures will remain on display as long as the weather cooperates.
If postponed because of weather conditions, the event will take place March 6.
Seminar will targethomeownership, finance
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown Area Urban League, 1350 Fifth Ave., Suite 300, will host the first in a series of homeownership/financial literacy seminars, "Why Rent, When You Can Own Your Own Home?" at 5:30 p.m. March 4.

Lakeview levy panelplans public meeting
CORTLAND -- The Lakeview Levy Committee will have a public information meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lakeview High School auditorium.
Committee members, board of education representatives and school district administrators will answer questions and concerns regarding the 4.5-mill levy that will appear on the March 2 primary ballot.
