WARREN -- The city schools will conduct a free four-part volunteer literacy tutor training workshop beginning next month at East Middle School, South Street. The sessions will be from 5:15-8:30 p.m. March 23, 25 and 29 and April 1. The workshop includes methods that will enable community volunteers to work with adult beginning readers and doesn't require prior teaching experience. At the conclusion of training, each qualified participant will be certified as a literacy tutor. To participate, call Beth Trace, adult literacy coordinator, at (330) 841-2272, Ext. 257.
