RANDALL A. WELLINGTON*
Age: 71
Home: 3132 Louise Rita Court, Youngstown.
Employment: Sheriff since 1999. Youngstown Police Department, 1957 to 1996, served as chief from 1984 to 1996.
Education: South High School; Youngstown State University, bachelor of arts in law enforcement administration.
Family: Son, Dennis.
Priority: To continue to incarcerate any and all criminal offenders in the jail, which the taxpayers built for that purpose, and to do more with less.
EDWARD P. NEMETH
Age: 56
Home: 7480 E. Parkside Drive, Boardman.
Employment: Private computer consultant since June 1997; owner/operator of computer Internet service company. Served as sheriff from 1985 to 1996.
Education: Youngstown State University, bachelor's degree in law enforcement administration, associate degree in criminal justice; Oklahoma City University graduate program, law enforcement courses.
Family: Wife, Peggy; daughters, Heidi and Heather.
Priority: Stabilize the department in terms of jail conditions, budget and personnel assignments.
HOWARD L. FAISON JR.
Age: 53
Home: 1159 Dryden Ave., Youngstown.
Employment: On disability retirement since May 2003 from the sheriff's department, with recall rights of five years. He had been with the department since 1974, and attained the rank of lieutenant.
Education: Hubbard High School; one year at YSU in engineering.
Family: Wife, Brenda; three daughters.
Priority: To initiate a zero tolerance to all crime in the county.
