Two candidates are seeking the Democratic nomination for the two-year seat. An (*) denotes the incumbent. Jerome F. McNally is on the ballot but isn't running for the seat. He withdrew past the deadline. Nicolas Keller is the only Republican running in his party's primary for the seat.

Priority: To obtain maximum funding for Mahoning Valley projects, and to deal with first-time and nonviolent drug offenders.
MICHAEL E. O'HARA
Age: 52
Home: 1606 Lynn Ave., Youngstown.
Employment: A teacher at Howland Local Schools.
Education: A master of science degree in elementary principal administration and a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Youngstown State University; a 1969 Woodrow Wilson High School graduate.
Family: Single.
Priority: To work for all people in the Mahoning Valley by bringing projects here to promote growth and jobs, and to develop a statewide Internet program for cities, counties and the state to sell surplus items.
