BOYS BASKETBALL Champion ends 16-game streak, prevails at Bristol

BRISTOLVILLE -- Champion's 16-game losing streak came to an end as the Golden Flashes upended Bristol 83-53 in a non-league boys basketball game Tuesday.
The Flashes (1-16) jumped out to a 29-17 lead in the first quarter and held a 45-29 margin at intermission.
Champion, which had a 31-22 rebounding advantage, put four players in double figures as Adam Lantz, Nick Wildman, Mark Jackson and Jake Gross scored 22, 21, 18 and 11 points, respectively.
Bristol (7-9) was sparked by David Whitt with 18 points. Thomas Henry chipped in with 11.
Lakeview 64, Girard 53
GIRARD -- Joey O'Palka-Brown paced the Bulldogs (14-3, 10-1 Trumbull Athletic Conference) with 19 points. Nick Canterino had 16 points and Nick Cretella had 14 points for the Indians (5-12, 2-9).
Girard had more baskets, 23-21, but Lakeview shot 20-for-32 at the foul line.
Ursuline 66, Wilson 45
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Irish (7-12) had a commanding 53-32 lead by the end of the third quarter.
Jerome Jones, Brett Neely and Branndon Braxton led the Irish with 14, 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Michael Artis paced the Redmen (4-14) with 13 points. Chauncey Whitlow chipped in with 12.
Canton Timken 59, Chaney 53
YOUNGSTOWN -- City Series champion Canton Timken made 9-of-10 free throws in the fourth quarter to pull away from a 45-45 tie.
Timken (9-7, 6-0) connected on 14-of-16 free throws.
Chaney sophomore Dominique Peak led all scorers with 19 points, 17 in the second half. Peak also had 11 rebounds, while senior Ben Pearch pulled down 10 caroms.
Junior Jeremy Tomlin had five assists for the Cowboys (4-13, 2-4).
West Branch 52, Waterloo 42
BELOIT -- The Warriors (6-12), leading 27-23 at the break, outscored Waterloo 15-6 in the third quarter of the last game played at the old West Branch High gymnasium.
West Branch will open its new fieldhouse when it entertains Carrollton on Friday. Andy Pappas sparked the Warriors with 15 points. Ryan Casteel chipped in with 13.
Youngstown Christian 66, East Liverpool Christian 63
EAST LIVERPOOL -- Steven Setnick put the Eagles (9-9) ahead 64-63 when he made a basket with less than a minute remaining.
The Eagles trailed 53-49 heading into the final eight minutes, then outscored the Warriors 17-10.
Setnick, who scored seven points in the fourth quarter, finished with 20, while teammate Mike Byrdy took scoring honors with 25.
Dylan Verian led East Liverpool Christian with 19 points. Justin Reed added 15, Corey McCoy 12 and Robert McCoy 11.
Southeast 66, Streetsboro 63
ROOTSTOWN -- The Pirates (14-2) led 37-27 at halftime and held off Streetsboro's late rally to prevail in the Portage County League game.
Pat Divoky sparked the Pirates with 20 points. Josh Nelson added 19 and he grabbed 11 rebounds. Matt Farley finished with 13 points.
