BOULDER, Colo. -- Stacy Stephens had 13 points and 11 rebounds, Tiffany Jackson hit a key layup with 1:30 left and Texas held off Colorado. Jackson added 10 points and 11 rebounds for Texas (23-2, 11-1 Big 12), which posted its ninth straight victory despite shooting 26 percent -- its worst performance of the season. Colorado (19-4, 8-3) got 10 points and 12 rebounds from Randie Wirt, and Anna Nedovic also had 10 points. Tera Bjorklund, the Buffaloes' leading scorer and rebounder, scored only five points before fouling out with 7:59 remaining.
No. 2 Connecticut 66, Rutgers 43
PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Barbara Turner outscored Rutgers 12-10 in the first half as Connecticut put on a defensive clinic in rolling to its ninth straight victory. The two-time defending national champion Huskies (20-2, 10-1 Big East) limited Rutgers (14-9, 6-5) to four baskets on 27 shots in the first half in taking a 24-point lead. The 10 first-half points allowed were one shy of Connecticut's conference-record low, set in December 2001 against St. John's.
No. 4 Duke 89, No. 15 North Carolina 79
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Alana Beard scored 31 points and reserve Vicki Krapohl added a career-high 20 to lead fourth-ranked Duke over North Carolina. Duke (20-3, 11-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) shot 48 percent -- including a 12-for-23 performance from 3-point range -- and reached the 20-victory plateau for the seventh straight season. It also was Blue Devils' 11th straight win over the Tar Heels (18-5, 8-4), who got 25 points from freshman Ivory Latta.
No. 6 Louisiana Tech 82, San Jose St. 51
RUSTON, La. -- Amisha Carter and Trina Frierson scored 20 points apiece to lead sixth-ranked Louisiana Tech to its 24th consecutive victory at home. The Lady Techsters (19-2, 12-1 Western Athletic Conference) also got 10 rebounds from Carter and eight from Frierson. Erica Smith-Taylor had 12 points and six assists, and Amber Obaze added 10 points for Tech.
No. 7 Texas Tech 59, Texas A & amp;M 58
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- LaToya Davis grabbed a rebound on a missed free throw then scored on a layup with four seconds remaining, and Texas Tech came back to beat Texas A & amp;M. Tech (21-4, 7-4 Big 12), which got 18 points from Chesley Dabbs, trailed 58-55 with 15 seconds left. But Cisti Greenwalt hit a pair of free throws. Then Toccara Williams missed the front end of a one-and-one that Davis rebounded.
No. 9 Kansas St. 89, Nebraska 69
MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Kendra Wecker scored 18 points and Kansas State beat Nebraska for its sixth straight win. The Wildcats (19-3, 10-1 Big 12) dominated early in the second half and evened their 81-63 loss in Lincoln on Jan. 24. Nebraska (16-7, 6-6) shot just 36 percent from the floor and was 2-of-17 from 3-point range. Twiggy McIntyre had 13, Claire Coggins scored 12, and Laurie Koehn and Nicole Ohlde each had 11 for Kansas State.
No. 11 Stanford 61, California 53
STANFORD, Calif. -- T'Nae Thiel scored 16 points and Stanford beat California to snap a two-game losing streak. Susan Borchadt added 14 points as the Cardinal (18-5, 11-3 Pac-10) took a one-half game lead over Arizona in conference play with four games remaining.
Iowa St. 81, No. 18 Baylor 72
AMES, Iowa -- Mary Fox scored a career-high 22 points and made five of Iowa State's 13 3-pointers, leading the Cyclones to victory. Iowa State (11-11, 4-7 Big 12) recovered from a six-minute scoring drought midway through the second half and went on a 16-2 run to erase a 10-point Baylor lead. Fox hit consecutive 3-pointers to give Iowa State a 66-64 lead with 2:47 left and Anne O'Neil's fadeaway jumper made it 68-64.
Miami 65, No. 21 Virginia Tech 56
BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Chanivia Broussard had 14 of her 22 points in the second half, and Miami's 8-0 closing run gave the Hurricanes a victory over Virginia Tech. Tamara James made a 3-pointer to give the Hurricanes (18-4, 7-4 Big East) a 57-54 lead. Kerri Gardin responded with a layup for the Hokies (17-6, 6-6) with 3:11 left, but Virginia Tech went scoreless the rest of the way. Shaquana Wilkins made a layup and Miami converted six free throws in the final minute.
