YOUNGSTOWN -- Reservations are being taken for a library grant center orientation program scheduled for the Main Library Meeting Room, 305 Wick Ave., at 9:30 a.m. March 5.
"Grantseeking Basics: An Orientation to the Funding Research Process" is a basic orientation to the grant center collection. Grant writing is not included.
The orientation is free and open only to representatives from nonprofit organizations seeking information on funding sources and fund raising.
Reservations can be placed by calling the Main Library, (330) 744-8636, and pressing "2" at the phone prompt for "Reference Information."
Levy committee breakfast
GIRARD -- Girard City School Operating Levy Committee will have an informational breakfast Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Girard Multigenerational Center on Trumbull Hill.
The breakfast is open to Girard business owners and senior citizens. The committee will present information on the operating levy on the March 2 primary ballot. Call Girard City Schools (330) 545-5431, Ext. 223, for more information.
Book sale planned
POLAND -- The Friends Bookstore in the lower level of Poland Library, 311 S. Main St., will have a book sale the first week of March.
The bookstore is a project of the new Friends of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. The book sale will help the Friends clear the shelves so new materials can be added for an event to be announced soon. Book sale hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 1 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 2-6.
Penn State open house
SHARON, Pa. -- Penn State Shenango will have a Winter Open House at 6 p.m. Thursday for junior and senior high school students interested in learning about the campus.
Visitors will get a tour, meet with students and receive information on the associate and baccalaureate degree programs.
