NORTH LIMA Vandals break windows at B.J. Alan construction site
NORTH LIMA -- Vandals broke windows in a construction trailer and in several pieces of heavy equipment at the construction site of the new B.J. Alan showroom in Beaver Township on state Route 7 about a half-mile south of Western Reserve Road.
An estimate of the damage, discovered Saturday, was not available.
Construction of the new showroom, the third of a new B.J. Alan prototype, began about three weeks ago with the foundation completed and steel trusses erected, said William Weimer, B.J. Alan vice president.
He said the building was not damaged, and the company thinks nothing was stolen.
The new showroom, scheduled to open May 15, will replace a showroom on state Route 46 just off state Route 11 that was destroyed by fire in September 2003. Weimer said it will be determined at a construction meeting Monday if the vandalism will affect the construction timetable.
