Sabres 8, Kings 3
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Maxim Afinogenov scored twice, and the Buffalo Sabres scored seven times in the final 24 minutes. Ales Kotalik and Daniel Briere had a goal and two assists apiece in Buffalo's best offensive outing since an 8-0 win over Atlanta on Nov. 8, 2001. Chris Drury, Jochen Hecht, Rory Fitzpatrick and Henrik Tallinder also scored, helping the Sabres to their sixth win in seven games and improve to 9-2-2 in their last 13 home games. Fitzpatrick scored the go-ahead goal, putting the Sabres up 4-3 with 1:10 remaining in the second period.
Wild 3, Oilers 0
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Marc Chouinard scored for the first time in more than three months, and Dwayne Roloson earned his fourth shutout of the season to lead the Wild. Sergei Zholtok and Pascal Dupuis also had goals for the Wild, who won for the third time in four games and ended the Oilers' -- and goalie Ty Conklin's -- three-game winning streak.
Predators 5, Capitals 2
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Scott Hartnell had two goals and an assist, and the Nashville Predators snapped a three-game losing streak. Vladimir Orszagh, Wyatt Smith and Marek Zidlicky added goals for the Predators, who scored twice on the power play for the first time in four games. Zidlicky had a power-play goal in the second period when he put a rebound of his own shot around Maxime Ouellet's left pad. Hartnell added a goal with 10.9 seconds left in the period on a three-on-two break that gave Nashville a commanding 4-1 lead.
Islanders 5, Coyotes 2
GLENDALE, Ariz.-- Janne Niinimaa broke a tie early in the third period and New York capped a four-game road swing with its first victory of the trip. It was New York's first win on the road against the Coyotes since they were the Winnipeg Jets. Trent Hunter had two goals, scoring the second into an empty net with 1:07 left, and Rick DiPietro made 22 saves for the Islanders, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit.
Flames 2, Mighty Ducks 1
CALGARY, Alberta -- Jarome Iginla's 28th goal of the season proved decisive, and Miikka Kiprusoff made 25 saves for Calgary in a win over Anaheim. Iginla's goal at 5:07 of the second period put Calgary ahead 2-0 and gave the Flames' captain nine goals and four assists in his last seven games.
