SALEM Humane Society plans fund-raisers
SALEM -- Salem Humane Society Inc. has several upcoming events planned to benefit the agency and its mission.
The group will have its annual garage sale March 6 at the Saxon Club on state Route 9, south of Salem.
The group is seeking donations from the public, but asks that people not donate any clothing except baby clothes, nor large appliances, old computer equipment, exercise machines or sofa beds. Items may be left at the Saxon Club from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 28.
A fund-raiser is set from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Dairy Queen, East Park Avenue,Columbiana. During that time, the business will donate 20 percent of its proceeds to the humane society.
A similar event is set from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Burger King on West County Line Road, Columbiana.
Money raised will help fund the group's program to spay stray cats.
From 8 to 10:30 a.m. next Saturday, Lisbon Veterinary Clinic, 8100 Race Road, Lisbon, will neuter up to 40 family-owned cats for $10 each. Those interested in the service must first call Connie Doskocil, shelter supervisor, at (330) 332-2600.
That number also may be used for any questions about the agency or its upcoming events.
