AUSTIN, Texas -- Heather Schreiber scored 16 points and Texas marked its return to the top spot by using timely 3-point shooting. Tiffany Jackson had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Longhorns (22-2, 10-1 Big 12), who had to overcome a sloppy offense that committed 23 turnovers to match a season worst. Jamie Carey scored 12 points for Texas. The Longhorns have won eight straight and 15 of their last 16.
No. 2 Connecticut 82, Syracuse 38
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Diana Taurasi and Ann Strother scored 10 points apiece in the first half as Connecticut built an insurmountable lead. It was the eighth straight win for the Huskies (19-2, 9-1 Big East) and the seventh straight loss for the Orange (6-15, 3-8). Barbara Turner led UConn with 13 points. Taurasi and Strother played sparingly in the second half and neither scored after the break.

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Nicole Ohlde scored 23 points and Kendra Wecker added 21, helping Kansas State win for the 16th time in its last 17 games. Megan Mahoney had 10 rebounds as the Wildcats (18-3, 9-1 Big 12) tied Texas for the conference lead. Erica Hallman led Kansas (9-12, 2-8) with 14 points.

BOULDER, Colo. -- Randie Wirt sank three of four free throws in the final minute, and Maria Billingsley added two for Colorado. Tera Bjorklund led the Buffs (19-3, 8-2 Big 12) with 24 points. Megan Ronhovde scored 19 points for Iowa State (10-11, 3-7) and Brittany Wilkins added 18.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Steffanie Blackmon scored 14 of her 22 points in the first half to help Baylor. Emily Niemann added 15 points for the Bears (18-5, 6-4 Big 12), who took a 20-8 lead and were never seriously threatened. Evan Unrau had 14 points for Missouri.
