Eckerd closing opensdoor to Giant Eagle
CANFIELD -- Giant Eagle has purchased the customer prescription files from the former Eckerd Drugs at 419 E. Main St. in Canfield, which closed recently. Tami Alderman, a spokeswoman for the Clearwater, Fla.-based Eckerd chain, said the store was closed because company officials determined it was underperforming financially. Eckerd operates 2,800 stores in 23 states.
