YSU Hot dates? Group will produce calendar
If the calendar of women sells well, the group will make one featuring men.
YOUNGSTOWN -- A group of Youngstown State University students is on the lookout for the "sexiest" women on campus to appear in a fund-raising calendar.
Sophomore Josh Hiznay of Poland said he and other members of the University Scholars program need cash to support some of their activities, like an upcoming spring festival for youngsters from the local Boys & amp; Girls Club, the Rescue Mission and Beatitude House.
"I think it's really interesting," Hiznay said. "Everyone I talk to, it really piques their interest."
He said he hopes the fund-raiser will make at least $2,000.
But first, the scholars need to find YSU's sexiest. Only women need apply, at least for this first calendar.
"We decided if the women sell, then we would do the guys," Hiznay said.

Scholars will be stationed in Kilcawley Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Feb. 20 to find their calendar women. Hiznay asks those interested to submit a photograph or stop by in person; they will have cameras to take their own photos.
Once all applicants are in, the scholars will pick the 12 sexiest to appear in a calendar running from August 2004 to August 2005.
"No one should be too shy to submit," said Hiznay, who majors in pre-law and math.
However, they should keep in mind that the sexy women selected will pose in swimsuits & agrave; la the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
The plan is to have the swimsuit-clad women pose at various locations on campus. The photographer is a former YSU Scholar who graduated with an art degree.
Hiznay said he expects the calendars will go on sale toward the end of the semester, perhaps late April or early May; the items will be preprinted with important YSU dates.
The group has not yet decided on a printing company or a selling price.
