YSU's business schoolschedules dedication
YOUNGSTOWN -- The business school at Youngstown State University will dedicate a new learning center and seminar room at 6 p.m. Thursday in Room 215 of Williamson Hall. It will be named in honor of YSU graduate Alan W. Cope of Salem.
Cope, who earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1963, owns John Deere dealerships in Alliance, Kinsman and Austinburg. Cope recently donated $100,000 to the college for scholarships and to help develop what will be known as the Alan W. Cope Professional Development Suite.
The suite includes a 45-seat center that has multimedia equipment and a seminar room that will be used for group-based work and small-group meetings.
TCTC celebrates week,offers tours of facility
LORDSTOWN -- The adult education department at Trumbull Career & amp; Technical Center is celebrating National Career and Technical Education Week by offering tours this week during business hours. Blood-pressure readings will be given from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Circuit City's struggles
RICHMOND, Va. -- Consumer-electronics chain Circuit City Stores Inc. said Monday it plans to close 19 stores by the end of the month as it struggles with falling sales. In Ohio, it is closing stores in Fairlawn, near Akron, and Trotwood, near Dayton. The stores will be closed Feb. 23.
GM recall includes Envoys,TrailBlazers, Bravadas
DETROIT -- General Motors Corp. will recall about 636,000 midsize sport utility vehicles from model years 2002 and 2003 to inspect and repair possible faulty windshield wiper equipment, the automaker said Monday.
It said the condition has caused at least two accidents.
The vehicles involved are the 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT, GMC Envoy and Envoy XL and Oldsmobile Bravada built between October 2000 and June 2002. Some 2003 TrailBlazers and TrailBlazer EXTs, Envoys and Envoy XLs and Bravadas built between April 2002 and November 2002 also are included. Some 2002 Isuzu Ascenders also will be recalled. Beginning in the third quarter, owners will be notified to bring affected vehicles to their dealers.
