POLAND -- The Friends of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County -- a new countywide volunteer group in support of the libraries -- seeks members and will conduct a membership meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 at Poland Library, 311 S. Main St.
The new organization will be in charge of the Friends bookstore on the lower level of the Poland Library.
Dues are $10 for individuals, $25 for families and $5 for pupils.
Fire investigation
CAMPBELL -- A fire that caused $15,000 in damage to a Morley Avenue home is still under investigation.
The blaze was discovered just before 2 p.m. Saturday and was contained in the basement, according to the report.
Two residents, including a child, were home at the time and escaped without injury, the report says.
Eight city firefighters extinguished the blaze in an hour but were on the scene about 21/2 hours.
