BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Jeff Horner hit a spinning lay-up with 1.6 seconds remaining in double overtime to give Iowa an 84-82 victory over Indiana on Saturday.
Greg Brunner led the Hawkeyes (12-8, 5-4 Big Ten) with 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Horner scored all 17 of his points in the second half. Iowa's late flurry in the second overtime wiped out two big rallies by Indiana and helped coach Steve Alford, who led the Hoosiers to the 1987 national championship, earn his first win at Indiana since taking over at Iowa five years ago.
The Hoosiers (11-9, 5-4) were led by Bracey Wright, who had 25 points, including a 3-pointer with five seconds remaining to force the second overtime.
Northwestern 69, Wisconsin 51
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Vedran Vukusic scored 18 points and Northwestern used a big first-half run to stun No. 14 Wisconsin and knock the Badgers out of the Big Ten lead.
Wisconsin (15-4, 6-2) was replaced by Michigan State.
Northwestern (9-11, 4-5) shocked the Badgers with a 34-11 run over the final 13:30 of the opening half -- including a 15-0 spurt that had Welsh-Ryan Arena rocking -- and opened a 17-point halftime lead.
Jitim Young scored 17 and Davor Duvancic 12 on four 3-pointers for the Wildcats.
Wisconsin's Devin Harris, coming off a career-high 38-point performance against Minnesota, scored 16 but shot just 4-for-18 from the field. Zach Morley added 15.
Wisconsin played its second straight game without suspended guard Maurice "Boo" Wade.
Michigan 64, Purdue 63
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Courtney Sims tipped in a shot with 1.4 seconds remaining to lift Michigan.
After Brandon McKnight's mid-range jumper gave the Boilermakers the lead with less than 10 seconds to go, Daniel Horton missed a shot in the lane. Sims caught the airball, missed a putback and leaped again to tip the ball in to give the Wolverines their third victory in four games.
Horton scored 19 and Sims had 11 points and 15 rebounds for Michigan (13-6, 4-4 Big Ten). Bernard Robinson added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
David Teague led Purdue (15-7, 5-4) with 14 points. McKnight, Brett Buscher and Melvin Buckley each scored 10 for the Boilermakers, who had won five of seven.
