Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, University Center. The movie "Boycott," 6 p.m., tells the story of the struggle during the famous Montgomery bus boycott. The movie "Radio," 8 p.m. The story of the real life Robert "Radio" Kennedy, portrayed by Cuba Gooding Jr., a tale of one man's victory over the hardships in his life.
TUESDAY
Actor James Earl Jones will deliver the keynote address at Edinboro University's fifth annual Frank G. Pogue Honors Scholarship Luncheon, noon, Marriot at The Ambassador in Erie. Jones will address "The Culture Quest: How Culture Affects Us and How We Affect Culture." Tickets are $50. Seating is limited. Reserve your ticket by calling (814) 732-2992.
WEDNESDAY
Black History Quiz Bowl, 7 p.m., University Center, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Hosted by the student organization, Alliance for Racial Identity and Cultural Acceptance (AFRICA), . Participants will be divided into teams and asked a variety of questions pertaining to Black history.
THURSDAY
Panel discussion, "Why Do Black Greek Letter Organizations Exist?," 7 p.m. University Center, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. The National Panhellenic Council will coordinate. Will give a look at Greek life from the perspective of African-American members.

Pops orchestra performer Byron Stripling, 8 p.m., Lewis C. Cole Auditorium of Memorial Hall, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Stripling has been a featured soloist at the Hollywood Bowl and performs at jazz festivals around the world. The accomplished actor and singer was chosen to star in the lead role of the Broadway-bound musical, "Satchmo." Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for non-Edinboro students, $10 for senior citizens and Applause Card Holders, and Edinboro University students and staff are free with a valid ID. "Sisters and Voices" multi-media presentation, Penn State Theatre, Penn State Shenango, Sharon, Pa., 147 Shenango Ave., 7 p.m. Troupe of women performers looking at the triumphs and tragedies of black divas in music, including Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Marian Anderson and Chaka Kahn. Admission is free. Part of the campus' 2004 Cultural Event Series.
On "DiversiME University, " 7 p.m., Penn State Beaver, Monaca, Pa., Technical Classroom/Auditorium in the Laboratory Classroom Building. Live Satellite Speaker Series program teaches audience members how to forge their identities while appreciating the positive results from diversity and differences. Programs at Penn State Beaver are sponsored by the Student Government Association's Diversity Committee and student activities fees. Prof. Hafiz Shabazz lecture, "From Africa to America: The Power of the drum," 2 p.m., University Center, Edinboro University. Evening performance at 7 p.m., Louis C. Cole Auditorium of Memorial Hall as part of Edinboro's performing arts series. The performance is free and open to the public. Shabazz is an ethnomusicologist, percussionist, performer, lecturer, master drummer and the director of the World Music Percussion Ensemble at Dartmouth College. He has toured France, the Caribbean, Canada and the United States lecturing at over 500 schools and universities.

Annual Soul Food and Ebony Excellence Awards Dinner, 6 p.m., Van Houten South Dining Hall, Edinboro University. Three awards will be presented, recognizing the Ebony Excellence man, woman, and administration/staff/faculty member of the year. These awards are given to individuals who have supported the interests of minority groups in the fields of community service, academic/educational excellence, student support, student leadership, and social justice. A.F.R.I.C.A. will host a trip to the Cleveland Public Library to hear the famous lecturer, author and activist, Sister Souljah. "An Evening of Jazz, " UPMC Horizon Womancare Center, 875 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, Pa., 7 to 9 p.m. . Womancare Center. Features Alton Louis Merrell Jr., founder and chief executive officer of ALM Music Ministries of Warren, Ohio, and minister of music at New Jerusalem Fellowship Church, Warren, presenting "The Influence of Jazz in American Music." Admission is free.
Merrell, a graduate of Youngstown State University, appeared a number of times on the nationally televised "Bobby Jones Gospel Show" and has performed with well-known jazz artists and the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra.
"Think Fast" game show, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Brodhead Bistro, Penn State Beaver, Monaca, Pa. The nation's first mobile audience response trivia-based game show. This particular show will be based on facts and figures about black Americans' struggles and triumphs from 1900 to present, and popular culture information about black artists, musicians, actors, comedians, and cultural icons.
FEB. 24
Group discussion, "Why Are All of the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?," 8 p.m., University Center, Edinboro University. The discussion will focus on a variety of topics. Fueled by questions from the audience, students will have the opportunity to learn more about their fellow students and issues pertaining to Black History Month. The event will be hosted by A.F.R.I.C.A. and facilitated by Alton D. Scales, director of multicultural programs.
