Surprise party honors Elchucks on anniversary

XSTRUTHERS -- Friends and relatives attended a surprise party held Jan 10 at Mauthe Park Hall in celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Elchuck, 250 Omar St.
Hosts for the event were the couple's children and their spouses, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Elchuck of Morgantown, W.Va., Mr. and Mrs. Steve Soroka of Campbell, and Teresa Sevi of Struthers. Six grandchildren complete the family circle.
Mr. Elchuck and the former Betty Balkan were united in marriage Jan. 23, 1954, at Sacred Heart Church in Chester, W.Va. They are members of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church.
Mrs. Elchuck is a homemaker and is a volunteer at church functions.
Her husband is semiretired from Cooksey Culligan in Youngstown, where he has been a serviceman for 40 years.
