HORIZON LEAGUE Wright State downs Loyola

DAYTON -- DaShaun Wood scored 21 points, Vernard Hollins had 19 and Seth Doliboa 18 to lead Wright State to an 83-71 victory over Loyola (Ill.) Wednesday.
The Raiders (12-9, 9-2 Horizon League) led 37-36 at halftime and by 13 early in the second half, before Loyola put together a 19-2 run over the next six minutes and gained a 55-51 lead on a 3-pointer by DaJuan Gouard at 10:47.
Wright State didn't retake the lead for good until Wood made a layup with 8:04 to play, and the Raiders rebuilt a double-digit lead with Wood making four free throws in the final 35 seconds.
Terrance Whiters had 22 points for Loyola (7-14, 3-8). Paul McMillan had 18 and Gouard added 15.
Butler 72, IPFW 55
INDIANAPOLIS -- Duane Lightfoot had 22 points and nine rebounds to lead Butler (9-11) over Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne.
The Bulldogs opened the game on a 30-8 run capped by Bruce Horan's 3-pointer with 6:39 to go in the first half, while holding the Mastodons (3-18) to 30 percent shooting for the half. Horan scored 14 points.
David Simon led the Mastodons with 17 points, while Beau Bauer scored 11.
