BEAVER TOWNSHIP Park panel plans to sell bricks to pave walkway at flagpole
NORTH LIMA -- Beaver Township Park Board wants to pave the way to the Woodworth Park flagpole one brick at a time.
Member Ken Frost said the board hopes to have a brick-paved walkway in place around the flagpole in time to have a dedication ceremony in July.
He said about 1,000 bricks will be needed to complete the project. To pay for it, the board is selling engraved bricks for $35 each.
Frost said the park board hopes to sell a minimum of 100 bricks to be engraved. He said the bricks are a good way to honor the memory of a family member or friend, to honor someone for their service or accomplishments, or simply to recognize individuals, families or businesses.
The personal message engraved on each brick can be up to three lines, with up to 13 characters per line. Spaces and punctuation count as characters, Frost said.
The brick pathway is a beautification project for the park, Frost said. The proceeds from the sale of bricks will be used specifically for the flagpole project, not for other park purposes, he said.
Anyone wishing to purchase bricks may obtain order forms at the township administration offices, 11999 South Ave. Checks are to be made payable to the Beaver Township Park Board.
