2 face hearings on kidnapping charges

NILES -- A man and woman remain in custody in the city jail on charges of kidnapping and robbing a McKinley Towers resident.
Emmanuel C. Summers, 25, of Redondo Road, Youngstown, and Latasha M. Cole, 19, of Montrose Street, Liberty, are scheduled for preliminary hearings at 9 a.m. Feb. 11 in Niles Municipal Court.
Both were arraigned Wednesday on charges of kidnapping, aggravated burglary and criminal trespassing. Police say the two, along with an unidentified man, approached a woman who lives in the Seneca Street apartments to talk to her about an argument she had with a neighbor.
Reports say they dragged the woman into her apartment, took eight rings, a set of earrings and $120 in cash, and threatened to kill her.
