Members of 76th Aerial Port Squadron activated

VIENNA -- An additional 24 members of the 910th Airlift Wing's 76th Aerial Port Squadron were activated this morning.
That brings the number of 910th personnel activated to 471, the largest at one time in the history of the air base in Vienna, the 910th public information office reported. The 910th has 1,432 members.
The latest group from the 76th will initially be assigned to duty at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station until it receives deployment orders. On Jan. 21, 26 other members of the 76th were activated, and they were deployed Sunday to Dover Air Force Base, Del., to join the active duty aerial port squadron there until being further deployed, if necessary, a 910th spokesman said.
The 76th Aerial Port Squadron is responsible for loading cargo, heavy equipment, vehicles and supplies for delivery by C-130 Hercules aircraft. Today's activation brings the total of 76th personnel activated to 50.
