HERMITAGE Panel gets its first look at plans for subdivision on Lamor Road
City planners said they would like to see a second access street for the project.
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- There's another single-family home development being planned in the city, this one on Lamor Road.
A sketch plan for the 90-lot subdivision was presented to the Hermitage Planning Commission Monday, said Marcia Hirschmann, city director of planning and zoning.
The project, dubbed Camelot Estates, is the work of developer John Hudson, she said.
The site is on the south side of Lamor Road just east of Robertson Road.
It was a preliminary presentation to alert the commission that the project is on the drawing boards, Hirschmann said.
Some members of the commission had questions about access to the site, noting that the preliminary sketch shows access into the development only from Lamor Road.
There were suggestions that Hudson try to secure a right of way to open a an access street onto Robertson Road, she said.
Hudson indicated he is looking at that but has so far been unable to secure the required land, she said.
Other action
In other business, the commission:
UApproved a land development plan for a Get Go gas station featuring eight pumps and an 1,800-square-foot convenience store in the Hermitage Towne Plaza on East State Street. The station/store will be built where a vacant restaurant sits adjacent to the main plaza entrance. City commissioners must vote on the development plan.
UAccepted the resignation of Chairman Randy Coleman who is taking a new position with his employer, FirstEnergy, which will require him to spend some time in Akron. Coleman said he would no longer have time to serve on the commission. The commission immediately named Chuck Rogers as his successor.
