YOUNGSTOWN School district plans meetings

YOUNGSTOWN -- The city school district will have Parent Academy meetings at various locations to present parents with information to help families become more focused on what is expected at each grade level.
Information presented will include handouts on state-mandated academic standards.
A goal is to improve scores of the March administration of the Ohio Proficiency Tests.
Meeting dates, times and locations are:
U6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmont Drive.
U6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Italian American War Veterans Centre, 115 S. Meridian Road.
U6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 24 at McGuffey Center, 1649 Jacobs Road.
U5:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 25 at North Side Library, 1344 Fifth Ave.
